Here are some key resources for getting the latest influenza nucleotide and protein sequences.
Resources with analysis results.
Useful bioinformatic tools.
- Sequence Polymorphism Search at BioHealthBase: Very useful analysis!
BioHealthBase can display either nucleotide or amino acid polymorphism and provides 2 approaches to influenza sequence polymorphism determination. The first approach precomputes a consensus sequence for each position using a set of sequences representing each unique combination of host, subtype, and segment for type A influenza. The amount of variation at each position is then shown. The second approach performs the same calculations using a set of sequences that you either select from the BioHealthBase database or upload to BioHealthBase. Click here.
ProfileGrid is sequence comparison tool useful for comparing large numbers of similar sequences. Load a set of aligned sequences and the program will output a graphical display showing the nucleotide or amino acid composition at each site. This is an excellent resource for identifying variable and conserved sites. Click here.
