ICAV Third Symposium and Workshop
September 2005 - Peterborough, Canada

At the Third Symposium and Workshop in September 2005 at Trent University (Peterborough, Ontario) ICAV included a public forum as part of the agenda. The first day of the meeting was designed as a public event. Prominent speakers shared their views on the global threat posed by viral infectious diseases and how ICAV is positioned to contribute to a solution.

A major objective was to continue to heighten public awareness and to convey clear information to the general public regarding the science and goals of ICAV. Following the public forum were two days of scientific presentations and workshops, during which participants were updated on ICAV’s progress, and new international partners and research plans were integrated into the existing ICAV research framework. The meeting was attended by nearly 100 researchers and others.
