September 2006 - Australia Meeting

Travel and flight packages

Passports and Visas

All non-Australian citizens must obtain either a visa or travel authority before traveling to Australia.  Your travel agent will be able to arrange the visa at the time of booking.

Visit the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) website for information on the necessary visa or entry documents or contact the Australian Overseas Mission for the closest Australian visa office.

Medical and Travel Insurance

It is strongly recommended that international visitors carry travel insurance as overseas visitors are required to pay in full all medical expenses incurred while in Australia.

Flight Bookings

Please make your own travel arrangements – ICAV will reimburse travel expenses (economy only) after the meeting. (NOTE: we require original receipts, airline tickets and boarding passes).

Travel within Australia

Check the Australian Tourism website www.australia.com for upcoming tours or interesting locations to visit. September is a spring month with daytime temperatures averaging 25 degrees centigrade with little rainfall.

Arrival

It is strongly recommended that international visitors allow at least one day to adjust to the time difference. Travellers crossing the Pacific will lose one day when crossing the International Date Line.

Airport Transfers

Shuttle service from the Gold Coast Airport to the Crowne Plaza will be arranged for incoming delegates on Friday, September 22nd and departures Monday, September 25th.
