Patrick Michaud, BEng, MBA, CGA (Chair)

Mr. Michaud has extensive deal-making and management experience in many business areas, including the biotechnology industry. He is an entrepreneurial and strategic financial executive with a solid background in start-up businesses, expanding businesses and re-engineering financially distressed businesses. Mr. Michaud is currently Managing Director of Templar Associates, a financial services business providing personalized corporate finance expertise and management leadership to businesses.

Mr Michaud was Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Score Media Inc from 2002-2007. He was responsible for all operational and financial affairs of that publicly traded media company including financial reporting, control systems, and internal audit.

Prior to joining The Score, Mr. Michaud was the Senior Vice President and CFO of GlycoDesign Inc, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company. During that time, Mr. Michaud directed three private placements, the acquisition of a California-based biotechnology company and GlycoDesign's successful initial public offering in 2000. Previous to that he was self-employed as a financial consultant, providing operating and financial services to various companies, assisting them in their strategic planning, financial/management systems, developing business plans and raising capital.

Additionally, Mr. Michaud served for five years as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Clairvest Group Inc., a public Canadian merchant bank, and as Senior Vice President and CFO of a specialty electronics retailer.
Mr. Michaud earned an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the Royal Military College and has several financial certifications, including a Certified General Accountant designation.
