Growing Tamiflu resistance worries experts.

An article from The LA Times on the rising concern over these Tamiflu-resistant strains in the US and the Netherlands, especially in light of the fact that “...the resistant virus appears to spread just as easily and to cause disease as readily as nonresistant strains, which is not always the case. This is a particular concern for the hospitalized, the elderly and others whose immune systems are already weakened and who are at especially high risk of developing pneumonia and dying, according to a second JAMA study released online today.” Click here to read the article.

University.  Global experts on avian flu will deliver the latest update
on the status of the H5N1 virus and discuss current anti-viral
research.

ICAV Presents Poster at Annual Canadian Tech-Transfer Conference

ICAV presented a poster, Bridging the Anti-Viral Commercialization Gap, at the Alliance for Commercialization of Canadian Technology (ACCT) conference that took place on November 19 and 20, 2007. A national congregating body, the ACCT assembles the technology transfer offices and corporation across Canada.

The ICAV poster was well received and generated a great deal of interest from technology transfer and commercialization offices across Canada.
